About the Chicago Online Asian American Professionals Network

Are you new to the Chicago area, searching for resources or job leads? Are you curious about the success of local Asian Americans that don’t always get portrayed in the news? Perhaps you’re simply looking for organizations that can assist you with various needs unique to your demographic.

In the city of Chicago where Asian American population is expanding at a fast pace, a growing number of organizations currently exist to serve the local Asian American community. Many of them focus on certain Asian sub-groups. Some are able to provide concentrated assistance with professional development. Others may focus on social gatherings and networking.

However, networking and attending events in person can be difficult at times, so Asian American Professionals Online, Inc. (AAPO) seeks to bridge the gap between Asian Americans and the information they need to prosper by providing an online communication platform for them. This online platform provides a convenient avenue for discussion, promotion of local events, and keeping an eye on recent community trends. By interacting with each other, one can stay “in the know,” at all times, so an opportunity is never missed.

AAPO is dedicated to:

  • Providing an online platform for blogging on the topics of professional development, career advancement, entrepreneurship, and many more that are applicable to Asian American professionals. If you have good material, we’ll share it.
  • Facilitating meaningful interaction and news-sharing among local Asian American professionals via our online discussion forum. By doing so, you will be plugged right into action of what’s happening around Chicago’s Asian American community.
  • Recognizing successful professionals and inspiring others in Chicago’s Asian American community via our Q&A interviews. We will take recommendations from the community on individuals worthy of an interview.
  • Keeping community members up-to-date with what’s happening around Chicagoland via our event calendar.
